"Citizens' Forest" project for Ennigerloh

Grow together

Rottendorf Pharma is one of the main sponsors among other participating companies from the region. Together with a total of seven sponsors from the region, generous donations were released for planting on the Heinz Reckendrees Foundation's 15,000 sqm site.

For the management board, the "forest project" is a clear commitment to the Ennigerloh location; a long-term legacy for the citizens and all employees of the pharmaceutical company.

5,000 trees planted, 3,000 to follow

The “Citizens' forest” is being created west of Ostenfelder Straße near the headquarters of Rottendorf Pharma. 5,000 trees and shrubs were already planted at the beginning of March 2025. 3,000 more will be added in fall 2025.

In addition, an orchard was also plantedand a flowering meadow sown, to create a climate-friendly and sustainable living and recreational space for people and animals. The forest binds CO2 (carbon dioxide) and produces O2 (oxygen). It's good for the climate and allows its natural inhabitants and visitors to breathe deeply, grow, and thrive!

The area will initially be fenced to allow undisturbed and healthy growth. In the long run, the wait will be worth it, because a forest is a place for many generations. Those who might plant a tree there themselves may one day visit this very forest with their own offspring, or even specifically visit this one sapling planted again to finally discover a "grown" tree.

The forest is a legacy for generations; a silent witness to the times and century-project. Many more projects are planned: for example, the construction of perching stones for birds of prey and the introduction of other bird and insect species.
