Rottendorf Pharma to Double Long-Term Manufacturing Capacity with New Campus

New site creates additional capacity, advanced manufacturing environments, and opportunities for customer-specific solutions

Oelde/Ennigerloh, Germany, June 29, 2026. Rottendorf Pharma has officially begun construction of the Rottendorf Campus in Oelde, Germany, a major investment aimed at expanding manufacturing capacity for the global pharmaceutical industry. The first phase includes a state-of-the-art production facility and integrated logistics infrastructure. Rottendorf is investing more than €30 million in this initial phase, with total investments expected to exceed €100 million over the long term.

The new campus will complement Rottendorf’s existing headquarters and manufacturing site in Ennigerloh and is scheduled to begin operations in 2028. Upon full build-out, the company expects to increase its annual production capacity from approximately five billion to up to ten billion tablets.

“With the new campus, we are creating the foundation to grow alongside our customers while providing additional capacity and advanced manufacturing technologies,” said Marco Niemann, Managing Director of Rottendorf Pharma. “This investment strengthens our ability to support future customer programs with greater flexibility, scalability, and long-term reliability.”

A key advantage for customers is the opportunity to engage early in the development of the new manufacturing environment. Because the facility is being built on a largely undeveloped greenfield site, production areas can be designed and configured to support future product requirements and process needs.

“New manufacturing capacity of this scale is rare in today’s CDMO market,” said Erich Scheibner, Managing Director of Rottendorf Pharma. “This creates a unique opportunity for customers to influence facility planning at an early stage and secure long-term growth capacity. Together, we can develop manufacturing environments that are optimally aligned with future products and market demands.”

The campus has been designed as a long-term growth platform with the potential for additional production areas, laboratory space, and supporting infrastructure. Sustainability is also a key component of the project. Plans include DGNB Gold certification, an electrification-focused energy concept, and on-site photovoltaic power generation.

With the new campus, Rottendorf Pharma is not only expanding manufacturing capacity but also creating the foundation for its next phase of growth and even closer collaboration with customers worldwide.
