Apprentices sell cookies for a good purpose

The apprentices at Rottendorf Pharma processed 100 kilograms of cookie dough, baked it, packaged it in bags and then sold it to their colleagues.

Since 2013, the youth and apprentice representatives (JAV) at Rottendorf Pharma has organized a baking campaign at Christmas time to donate the money raised to charitable organizations in the region. The Rottendorf Pharma management topped up this amount to a total of € 2,500.

The money was donated in equal parts to the NABU Kreisverband Warendorf e.V. and the Tafel Ennigerloh e.V. food bank. The members of the JAV visited both organizations before Christmas and handed over the donation cheques.

Tafel Ennigerloh e.V. will use the donation for necessary staff training, to compensate for increased warehouse rents and for refueling the trucks. Due to the current inflation and the situation in Ukraine, there are significantly more people in need who are dependent on food donations.

NABU Kreisverband Warendorf e.V. is committed to preserving biodiversity in the region. As part of the donation handover, the JAV visited a bat bunker and was informed about the diverse and important work of NABU. Among other things, the money will be used to build more winter quarters for bats, as they have trouble finding suitable places to stay over the winter these days.

The JAV of Rottendorf Pharma would like to thank all trainees for their active commitment and hopes to be able to support great projects again in the next campaign.
